Benefits of Yoga @ School
Less stress and more focus – yoga is an effective strategy for students to manage and relieve stress, allowing a more focused and clear mind (especially during examination periods).
Better relationships – yoga is a mindfulness practice which encourages students to interact and connect with each other, resolving issues of bullying in the school environment. This encourages students to allow and accept experiences to occur, and to respond rather than react to circumstances.
Better sleep and greater learning ability – yoga relaxes our muscles which allow for deeper relaxation, allowing students to have a more alert and focused mind at school.
Increased calmness and decreased anxiety.
Encourages cooperation and teamwork.
Increases self-confidence and builds a positive self-image.
Teaches self-acceptance and self-love.
Expands self-awareness (mind and body) and awareness of others.
